Matthias Zeppelzauer is a senior researcher at the Institute of Creative\Media/Technologies at St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences (Austria) since 2013. He received his PhD in Computer Science from Vienna University of Technology in 2011 with highest distinction. His research focuses on multimedia signal processing and machine learning. He is an active member of the research community and acts as a reviewer for numerous high-impact conferences and journals. Matthias received several performance scholarships from the Vienna University of Technology and was awarded by the Austrian Computer Society for outstanding achievements in the area of pattern recognition. He is currently leading the NetIdee Project "SoniControl" which focuses on the development of a privacy preserving app for mobile devices that notifies and blocks ultrasonic tracking information. Recently, he got a second NetIdee Project "SoniTalk" funded which is focusing on the establishment of a secure and privacy-oriented protocol for ultrasonic communication.
SoniControl 2.0 beta testing
We are glad to announce that SoniControl 2.0 is ready to beta-test on the Google Play Store! This version includes novel diagnostics features to make ultrasonic signals more "graspable" to the users. Looking forward to your feedback!
On September 27th we presented SoniControl and SoniTalk at the Forschungsfest Niederösterreich in Vienna.
Improved map visualization and import detection rules
Our map visualization improved significantly since the first prototype.
SoniControl - Integrating the diagnostics module
Our new detection dialog integrates the visualization of ultrasonic messages. The diagnostics features should help users to distinguish potentially unwanted signals from false detection (e.g. triggered by some "noise").
SoniControl at the netidee Spring Talk
A great opportunity for the teams of all the funded projects to gather, give a short presentation of their status, ask for help on some specific issues or even offer support in their expertise field.
SoniControl at the NÖ Innovationspreis
SoniControl was awarded a certificate of recognition from the federal state of Lower Austria on the 17.01.2019.
