A few hours ago Facebook and 27 other organizations including Paypal, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, Kiva, A16Z, Union Square Ventures, Coinbase announced Libra, a cryptocurrency and smart contract platform.
Libra currently comes with an open source (Apache 2.0 License) test network implemented in Rust. The platform is planned to launch in the first half of 2020.
